 Starbucks

www.starbucks.com Climate change threatens coffee, coffee farmers, and the surrounding communities. In fact, that is why Starbucks has become a founding member of Team Earth.

Starbucks believes that together, we can help to address one of the most pressing issues of our time – climate change – and in the process, reward coffee farmers, communities, and customers.

Starbucks and Sustainability We are committed to doing business in ways that are good for people and the planet.

It's our commitment to purchase only the highest quality, ethically sourced and responsibly grown coffee. To reduce our own environmental footprint and fight climate change. And to give back to the neighborhoods and communities we're a part of.

Thanks to the customers who buy our coffee, together we’re able to make – and make good on – these commitments on a truly global scale.

People, Climate and Coffee We believe in the importance of caring for our planet and encouraging others to do the same. As a company that relies on an agricultural product, it makes good business sense. And as people living in the world, it is simply the right thing to do.

For more than a decade, Starbucks has worked with Conservation International to help ensure the coffee it serves reflects the company's commitment to sustainability. The partnership began with a commitment to promote coffee cultivation in a manner that protects biodiversity and improves the livelihood of coffee farmers in the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve in Chiapas, Mexico.

It expanded to five regions and led to the development of the Starbucks green coffee purchasing program – called Coffee and Farmer Equity (C.A.F.E.) Practices – that has been instrumental in driving the adoption of environmentally, socially, and economically responsible coffee buying practices across the company's entire supply chain.
