 The Challenge

© istockphotoWhat if we lived in a world where our climate fostered animals, plants, and people; there was plentiful water and clean air for everyone; and our forests and oceans were clean, healthy, and free from threat?

Team Earth is about achieving that vision. About taking action toward the world we want to see. It's about adding the small steps you take to the small steps thousands of others take – and bringing them together so that our small steps represent a giant leap for mankind.

Team Earth is here to help you get informed, and to help you take action. We will help DO More and DO Less, actions that only you can do, but that – combined with the millions we're planning to rally – can make a massive impact on the world we share.

TAKE ACTION: Together, we can tackle the biggest challenges of our time.

The Climate Challenge No challenge is bigger or more complex than climate change. It's melting our glaciers and raising our water levels, shifting rainfall patterns, making storms stronger and forcing species to migrate, and it's threatening our farms, our coastlines, and our communities. The threats don't get much bigger than this.

So it would be easy to think that climate change is too big of a problem for one person to impact. Team Earth says: Think again. Everyday actions can have a big effect if we all do our part. So, which of our climate actions will you take? Will you plant a native tree? Replace a conventional light bulb with a CFL? Drive fewer miles? All of the above? Tell us what you will do.

As a team, we'll make a real difference in the fight against climate change.

Take Action on Climate Change

Saving the Earth is a BIG job.
But if we all do our part, we can do it.

The Facts About
Climate Change
It comes down to this: human activities are forcing too much carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen and other gases (together, these are called “greenhouse gases,” or GHGs) into the atmosphere.

What that changing mix of gases in our atmosphere does is change global temperature and precipitation patterns and force shifts in the natural cycles that have sustained the Earth for as long as we've been around – a dangerous mix.

Team Earth scientists understand the factors that are driving climate change, and they understand the actions we need to take it on.
